We hosted a party!

Relive the fun we had with drinks, bites, and top-notch networking at InfoSec EU! Hosted by the Cybersecurity Marketing Society and sponsored by PBSE Cyber News Group, this event was the perfect kickoff for a busy week at InfoSec Europe!

Differences between Infosec Europe and RSA

  • New lingo: Booths are called “stands” in Europe, and they’re typically smaller than what you may be used to at RSA. For instance, Varonis exhibited in a 20x30 space at RSA, and a 20x20 stand at Infosec Europe.

  • Notable absences: Some big name RSAC exhibitors, like Wiz, were not present.

  • Less swag: There were noticeably fewer promotional items and giveaways.

  • Parties: In our experience, the parties at InfoSec Europe were more exclusive than RSA, and with less promotion from brands, making them harder to find without insider knowledge.
  • Everyone is welcome! Infosec Europe is free and open to anyone who registers to attend online. There are no requirements for cybersecurity experience or specific credentials so the audience can be wide ranging.

International Pavilions

Infosec also featured various international and state-sponsored pavilions, including Canadian, Virginian, and Bavarian spaces. The large sponsored areas (e.g., 40x40), were made up of smaller exhibition spaces for companies from the sponsoring region.

Additional Observations

  • Cost: Things are generally cheaper.
  • Transportation: The London Tube is super convenient.
  • Venue Comfort:
    • Floors are carpeted, unlike at Black Hat last year.
    • Carpeted floors make it easier to walk and reduce foot pain compared to hard concrete floors.
  • Creator's Corner:
    • There was a dedicated area for media, podcasts, and interviews.
    • Notable for its creative booths.
  • Bathroom Access: At the Excel Center, bathrooms are located down a flight of stairs, complete with a landing. An interesting difference from U.S. conferences where bathrooms are usually on the same floor as the event.

We had a great time at Infosec and as we love to do after every conference, we will be hosting the 2024 Infosec ROI Debrief. Make sure to share your “ROI” of Infosec which helps improve our collective marketing and benchmark each other. We will break into group discussions without competitors to share our ROI data, and that will be anonymously aggregated and created into a report. Register to attend here.
