Alicia Beaubien I know you know it, but the Cybersecurity Marketing Society was a huge help to me in landing my next step in January 2023. It helped me make real connections + land interviews faster than applying.

Super excited to be part of the Cybersecurity Marketing Society. I don’t like to feel complacent or stagnant and sometimes that is hard when you don’t live in one of the major metropolitan areas like San Fran, NYC, Denver, Boston, etc. You have to find ways to meet new colleagues and continue learning from others outside your immediate sphere of daily influence. In the short time I’ve been part of this group, I’ve already managed to meet some great people and am looking forward to the many educational opportunities!

Woah woah woah! When did I make it in this CISO Series clip! It was great meeting you David Spark!!!

How did this even happen? So last year I took PTO to attend a cybersecurity marketing and influencer conference hosted by Cybersecurity Marketing Society and it was amazing! Cyber influencers, podcast hosts, marketing directors from all over the industry came together to collaborate on how to market cyber BETTER.

I met so many amazing people and made so many great connections. I am looking forward to the next one in Philly in Dec 2024!

I have real beef with LinkedIn for not notifying me when I am tagged in stuff!

This post is about the Cybersecurity Marketing Society's job board.

I found my dream job there a few months back.

I applied. The recruiter reached out. I had an amazing interview experience. I had a fellow CMS member make an in-network referral (thanks Christine Castro!). And I got the job.

I am still thanking my lucky stars that this happened!

So THANK YOU Gianna Whitver and CMS team for all you do every day for those of us working on the cybersecurity marketing front lines. You have been there through the laughs, the cyber tears, the cyber beers, and everything in between.

I'm honored to be a part of such a caliber group of like-minded professionals working together (and friendly competing) to advance the same mission.

Keep up the great work! Y’all are changing lives, one slack channel at a time.

For those who aren’t members yet, check out the CMS website or LinkedIn for all the details on how to join. It's freakin free!

And for any cyber marketing pros seeking their next opportunity, here's the latest job board update: https://lnkd.in/gHY24iNV

Field Marketing Manager at Devo

Alright, post-Black Hat appreciation post incoming. I work with a brilliant, highly creative, and extremely capable team! It was humbling to be a part of such a beautifully well-orchestrated presence, where we got to teach so many people who we are, and what we do at Devo!

The Devo booth was a brilliant example of creativity from the world class photography through touching monetary donations in place of traditional swag. Our comms and executive teams also did a great job of presenting the new and improved data orchestration capabilities that we recently announced last week. (Hint: check the news. Or our blog!)

It was also so satisfying to connect - and reconnect - with so many cybersecurity professionals. Ranging from colleagues and partners I’ve only met previously over zoom, through connections I’ve met through the Cybersecurity Marketing Society, former coworkers, a wonderful mentor/ex-boss, and even a friend from high school I haven’t seen in (redacted) years!

This is definitely one for the ages. ❤️ Now, go back home, and get some sleep, everyone!

Missed us at RSAC? Imagine a gumball guessing game, hidden golden tickets, and menus of our security test ‘flavors’.

Don’t miss the fun next time – get a taste of security validation at Black Hat! 🍭

Thanks to Cybersecurity Marketing Society for the sweet recognition.

Today marks the official launch of Hack The Box's Global Channel Partner Program and I couldn't be more thrilled to have been a part of it.

From the moment I saw Tom Barter post about the (brand new) Partnership Marketing role in Cybersecurity Marketing Society I was excited. Then I met Emma Brothers and Seth Tossie and saw the vision they had for HTB to really engage in the channel and I knew I wanted to be a part of it.

Fast forward to 1.5 months of joining HTB, I'm so proud to say I have joined a team making investments in the channel. In a collaborative effort, we have created a formalized Partner Program to continue to extend HTB's reach and impact and forge strategic collaboration with leading industry partners.

Thank you to all who helped with this initiative! Please feel free to reach out if you want to learn more.

One of the perks of early spring in Ontario is a nice temperature for a walk. Just came back from a nice stroll while listening to the wonderful Breaking Through in Cybersecurity Marketing Podcast. So much interesting content and great perspectives on this critical role for virtually every cybersecurity vendor. Kudos to Gianna Whitver and Maria Velasquez for an awesome podcast.

From the few episodes I heard today, taking to heart wonderful suggestions from Ross Haleliuk (on founders perspectives), Jennifer Leggio ("labels are not style" is BRILLIANT and applicable to security!) and Tyler Shields (on value of measurement).

For anyone involved in the "business" end of cybersecurity, this is a great podcast to listen to!

Lots to catch up on!

Sometimes we get so caught up in marketing that we forget to....

market ourselves.

And it's not something we really talk about. But the importance and impact of building a personal brand and network is arguably one of the most crucial factors in your career. They say your network = networth.

I'm thankful to a few friends and true personal brand builders that I've met along the way, Elliot V. & Andy Tzortzinis, for joining my team meeting to chat through how to build a personal brand, market your marketing, and effectively work with stakeholders throughout the business to build relationships.

If you're looking for a community of cybersecurity marketers to learn from, network with, and share your experiences, join the Cybersecurity Marketing Society. Hands down the best community I've ever been a part of. Gianna Whitver

10 days ago I announced my last day at SCYTHE. So what’s next for me?

After a relaxing trip to the Jersey Shore 🌊 I am ready for my first day today at SPHERE Technology Solutions! I’ll be heading up Demand Gen at this cybersecurity software company.

I’m excited about this opportunity for a few reasons:

👥 The people - a friend from the Cybersecurity Marketing Society reached out to me about this opportunity and I’m especially looking forward to working with him. The team as a whole is exceptional and it will be great to work with Caroline, Andy, Chelsea, Katie, Anders, Rita, and the whole team at SPHERE!

🏗️ The opportunity to build - I’ve done it several times and I love the opportunity to build from scratch. Demand Gen is a new function at SPHERE and I get the chance to lead the way, blazing a trail to set the company up for success.

📍It’s local - SPHERE’s HQ is in Newark, NJ not all that far from where I live. I’ve worked for fully distributed companies since before COVID and I realized I miss the opportunity for in-person collaboration and community. Don’t get me wrong: I still plan to work from home much of the time, but to have the local, in-person option means a lot to me.

The list could go on, but for now I’ll be drinking from the proverbial fire hose 👩🚒, doing customer research 🔍, and building foundations while looking for low-hanging fruit 🍒.

What would you add to my 30-60-90 plan?

And now the long, winding road of how my network helped me find - and get - this great role. First Douglas Gotay introduced me to his wife, Anne J. In the meantime, Ines Roesler introduced me to her old colleague Louise Grant. And that, as they say, is [the] history!

"Open to Work"

Those are some of the most heart-wrenching words you have to say on LinkedIn.

One day you have a job, and the next, you don't.

It happened to me.

But I'm one of the fortunate ones.

Surrounded by support, guidance, and job recommendations, my network has been tremendously uplifting and helpful.

Nothing I do can truly show my gratitude, but I want to give a special shout-out to those that helped the most.

But for those still searching, please feel free to connect with me. I'm happy to help offer tips, recommendations, referrals, and resume reviews.

🌐 Final Day at CyberMarketingCon2023 and we discuss #ai

As #CyberMarketingCon2023 comes to a close, we attended a great session on AI.

🤖 Steve Piper, Founder & CEO of CyberEdge Group&LeadingEdge Group, delivered a compelling discussion on AI - from its groundbreaking benefits to its potential pitfalls and shared very thought-provoking examples of how AI is evolving in our world.

Steve's insights were a reminder: while AI is a leap forward for humanity, it also brings inherent challenges. His key message? We should embrace AI's transformative power, but also advocate for necessary legislation and ethical guidelines.

🚀 Steve's Perspective: As we advance with AI, it's crucial to balance innovation with thoughtful oversight. "We don't know what we don't know," Steve notes, emphasizing the importance of cautious progression in the AI domain.📣 What are your thoughts?

How do you see AI shaping our industry? What steps should we take to ensure its responsible use? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Had a fantastic time attending this year's #CyberMarketingCon2023 hosted by the Cybersecurity Marketing Society. My key takeaways on people and marketing:

PEOPLE:

🤝 People crave IRL interaction

📅 Events like CyberMarketing Con remind us that we're part of a community with common interests and challenges

🖐 Marketers love to share ideas and help each other. Don't hesitate to ask questions!

MARKETING:

📣 Building brand awareness is crucial for future demand-gen success - Tom Wentworth

⛔ Our BS tolerance is at an all-time low. Be clear about what you do and don't do - David J Ebner, Andy Ellis

💻 Optimize your website for transactions, not education. Most education happens offline in the dark funnel (social, etc.) - Lital Asher - Dotan

🎯 ABM program > tech. If you can't outline your ABM program on paper in a tech-agnostic way, you have no business doing ABM - Sarah Hartland

🔐 Gate content with intention. Don't gate TOFU content if the email is just going to sit in your database - Joseph Barringhaus

🤝 Trust is the key to marketing and sales alignment. We want to give sellers the best shot at success. - Amanda Lemmers

Thank you to Gianna Whitver and Maria Velasquez for making this event possible!

"Sometimes it's my job to just go and try to make friends all day!" – me, describing conference attendance to my 7-year-old 😂

#CyberMarketingCon2023 is officially wrapped! And as I also said to my daughter when describing the event, I am "so tired, but so happy."

Gianna Whitver and Maria Velasquez put together an excellent event, and bonus points for me, basically in my own backyard. Thanks for the thoughtfully curated agenda, bringing together such an amazing group of people, and for showcasing some of the very best of Austin after hours. This is an official "local gal" stamp of approval!

Lots of folks who were quicker to the keyboard have already hit on the content highlights with a pretty high degree of thoroughness, so here are a few of my people highlights instead:

💛 Karaoke shenanigans with Kaylie Jensen, Kateri Martin and Erik Long

💛 Arguing about dinosaurs with Tim Davidson 🍉🍍, who is a man of classic tastes

💛 Learning how to be better at LinkedIn with Mimi Gross 🔗

💛 Cracking up about tiny tech with Chris Simmons and Jessica McGregor

💛 Searching for bread and then trying to get the honky tonk started too early with J Katrina Murphy and Adam R. Benson

💛 Trading wisdom and wisecracks on the Perla's patio with Miranda McCanna, J Katrina Murphy and Carrie Landry (please come back to Austin again, Carrie, I promise all our Lyft drivers aren't strange)

💛 Trying to have a quiet chat on a loud party bus with Margie Agin and Suelen De Sousa

💛 Meeting 🎯 Manny Ataebi the very last night, only to end up wishing we had much more time to talk about life, the universe, and everything

💛 Hearing Briana Lake utter the words, "don't even get me started on sci-fi/fantasy literature," basically one of the phrases most guaranteed to get ME started

💛 Searching for my Bill Murray sticker-ordained BFF Theresa Ridgley and finally finding her on the event chat (again, IYKYK)

...And so many other fantastic moments of connection and learning. If you didn't go and have FOMO, that feeling is valid! Excited to keep the conversations going and hopefully get some coffee chats on the books in the coming weeks (or more likely after the holidays).

But first, some overdue face time with the boss. Anyone have a napkin?

What a couple of days.

Just got back after heading down to Austin for #CyberMarketingCon23. My first time to this event and it was an amazing experience.

I feel like this year’s conferences have all been so strong. Glad to see this happening right now!

Firstly, Ty to Gianna Whitver and Maria Velazquez. The two of you put together such an unbelievable community of cyber marketers to begin with but wow, you two pulled off a terrific event.

The quality of the content was strong and laser-focused. Others have already covered the learnings from the show, so I’ll try to add a few observations:

🎤 Tom Wentworth - man, I think you should be at every company’s SKO with that energy.

🌟 Loved doing the CMO's first 90 days panel with Alexandra Gobbi and Chas Larios. You both rocked it!

📊 Had an amazing time on the DG panel with Staci Northouse, Tom Kish and Joseph Barringhaus (who literally stepped in with 10 mins notice and delivered), and of course Maria (who MC’d). So much fun!

😅 Had a blast in David Spark's pick up lines session. I do think that Staci Cretu, M.S. and I made poor David nervous at one point though. :)

Good to catch up with folks I haven’t seen in a while and whole bunch of new ones.

I appreciate so much getting to hang with Lital Asher - Dotan, Mimi Gross 🔗, Tyler ShieldsAndy Ellis, Megan Dubofsky, Brian Tillman and Joe DePalma (+ the rest of the Punch crew), Nycole Walsh and Miranda McCanna (You got some good folks Molly George), Joseph Barringhaus and Matthew Shelton (Go Sonrai Security!), Lea Rabinowitz, and so many others that I would run out of space if I tried to mention em all.

Good to finally meet you in person Allan Alford, Richard Stiennon, Steve LaChance.

And even got to make a quick pitstop to briefly attend the chance a Partnership Leaders Meetup with the Austin Chapter. (TY Antonio Caridad, MBA)

.Crazy couple of days. Until the next one!

Fantastic week at Cybersecurity Marketing Society amazing job Gianna Whitver and Maria Velasquez so good to see old friends and make new connections.

Key take aways:

1) AI is here and can enhance what you are currently doing, try it!

2) The need to add to the conversation and educate not just sell

3) Your network is key, help others and learn from the resources that are available

4) Analysts influence buyers, invest as you do with other marketing functions, lean on experience and relationships in the space

5) Leverage freelancers and agencies when you can’t hire or if you need experts and relationships

It took a minute for all the knowledge dropped at

#CyberMarketingCon to marinate. You’re lucky to remember one thing from most conferences. This one had so many inspiring takeaways. These are the stories I'll carry forward.

👉 Get out from behind the curtain. As Jennifer Leggio said, “we are technical, operational, business executives.” Don’t gatekeep yourself. Ask questions. Be in the “room where it happens.”

👉 Align expectations. Create and share a marketing playbook as Dan Lowden does. Define what success looks like and make sure everyone understands the timeline and resources needed to achieve it.

👉 Simplify. Marketing messages don’t need to be funny or fancy but do need to be clear. As CISOs are looking to simplify the tech stack, you better have a message that communicates exactly how your product helps them meet their goals like no one else can.

👉 Talk with customers ALL THE TIME. There are lots of ways to do it - just listen to Dani Woolf. Abhishek Anbazhagan uses ROI calculators to spur conversations. Michele Crockett follows up with people who downloaded a free tool - not to sell, but to understand.

👉 Give back. Don’t reach out to buyers without providing something of value. Share knowledge like Tom Wentworth and people will find their way to you. This amazing community is here to help!

Congratulations to Gianna Whitver and team for putting together an incredible event that was thought-provoking, interactive, and super fun!

Day 1 keynote at CyberMarketingCon! I loved all of the content that Tom Wentworth shared and kept it so raw and real. “Demand Gen are the brand builders” 👏🏻 Times have changed and we need to all evolve on how people buy and consume information.

Then ActualTech CMO 📈 Geordie Carswell shared survey stats. The amount of time it takes for buyers to make a decision on a vendor is long. Continue staying in front of your audience and make it easy for them to consume your information and educate them throughout this journey 👏🏻👏🏻

One thing I love about security is it's a community. It's an ecosystem. It's collaborative. And it's about solving real security AND business challenges that result in achieving both business goals and improving the GREATER GOOD!

At the Cybersecurity Marketing Society and our conference #CyberMarketingCon, we know that security = community, and in that light we're so excited to bring these brilliant, talented security leaders onto the stage, and shine a light on them, and learn how we can all work together better from them!:

Yesterday kicked off Cybersecurity Marketing Society's #CyberMarketingCon in Austin, TX. While I'm not speaking or attending this year, I had the honor of creating the logo, social media assets, sub-logos, and presentation templates for this year's event.

I will forever be grateful for the community Gianna Whitver and Maria Velasquez built. After I was laid off last Spring, the society was incredibly supportive. I made great connections as members connected me with full-time opportunities and I was given many freelance projects, including this one. It is a great group of people. Whether you are looking for a new job, need marketing advice, or just looking to socialize with other marketers within the cybersecurity field. Also, the Slack meme channel is 🔥

Wishing the society many years of success and a happy Cyber Marketing Con! I know it'll be jam-packed with valuable sessions.

Customer experience is about those small, delightful moments that leave a lasting impression. At #cybermarketingcon, I stumbled upon marketing memes cleverly displayed as posters in the expo hall. It caught me off guard and brought a smile to my face. It’s evident that the Cybersecurity Marketing Society went beyond the norm, deliberating on creating these humorous moments.

When was the last time you gathered to brainstorm ways to elevate experiences? How can you incorporate that extra touch that makes all the difference?

Back from 2023 #CyberMarketingCon hosted by the Cybersecurity Marketing Society. It was so great to finally meet Gianna Whitver in person, reconnect with so many colleagues from jobs past and make new connections. So much practical information that I look forward to sharing with Team Trinity Cyber. And Austin peeps…let’s keep the momentum going. Y’all know who you are ✌️

I went to #CyberMarketingCon and had a blast! Why would a CISO go to CyberMarketingCon?

* I have a small business now in cyber consulting and could sure use some marketing help. I know very little about marketing and the sessions at this conference were super informative! Of note is the "How to Use AI for Marketing" presentation by Dr. Anushika Babu Vadlamudi.

* Potential podcast sponsors are the attendees at such a conference. I'm way too busy/lazy to recruit sponsors - I generally let them come to me first, then I screen them, then they may or may not make the show. This way I was able to reach 100s of folks in one go. I was slinging media kits (flyers) like mad.

Highlights:

* Got to catch up with George Kamide, Sameer Sait, The Semperis marketing crew: Thomas LeDuc, Teodora Neeva (she/her), Heather Trevenna, Michele Zappulla, CMP. I saw Gianna Whitver and Maria Velasquez of course! (They are the ones who built this awesome conference!), Andy Ellis, David Spark, and many others (including the awesome Ross Haleliuk)!

* Got to meet in person: 🎯 Manny Ataebi finally, and many, many others. Got to re-meet Ayman Elsawah, and had a blast hanging out with him and breaking bread... er, pound cake.

* Got to meet a ton of new folks! Karen Hattan and I did not get to chat for too long, but WOW does she have a great sense of hats!

The weirdest part about the conference for me absolutely should not be the weirdest part, and made me ashamed to think of as weird. The crowd was as many women as men. Maybe even more. The fact that this was weird to me is a statement about how broken our industry is still in terms of gender equality. I'm absolutely used to conferences where women are a scarce minority. 50% of our society is women and yet I'm used to seeing them at the 10% or at best 20% ratio. It was refreshing to see the opposite finally. We need more of that. The energy at this conference was refreshingly different. </soapbox>

* I got to share a stage with Sameer Sait, Maurice Stebila and Christophe Jacquet, sharing CISO perspectives to marketers.

* I got to give out more Bestest Like Ever! awards!!! Donations were made to Women + Cybersecurity = Women's Society of Cyberjutsu!

Wrapping up my 2nd full day at Cybersecurity Marketing Society#cybermarketingcon with Christina Lyle and my notepad is filled with ideas and camera role is packed with pictures of hard hitting slides. It’s been YEARS since I’ve been a conference attendee….is this how all y’all conference-goers feel after getting to experience meaningful sessions? You lucky ducks 🦆. I can’t wait to share my learnings with my team, and of course here on LinkedIn 🤗

Reflecting on an incredible week spent at #cybermarketingcon23, hosted by the Cybersecurity Marketing Society.

Thank you to Gianna Whitver and Maria Velasquez, the brilliant minds who founded this society. This conference was more than just a professional development opportunity. I've been describing this week to my colleagues as "group therapy". It was a safe space, a supportive environment where we all could learn from each other, share our ideas, our strategies, and even the challenges we face as cybersecurity marketers. It's rare to find such an open forum for marketers today.

The insights gained, the discussions held, and the connections made have left me feeling enriched and inspired. It's a testament to the power of collaboration and shared knowledge. I am already looking forward to the next conference!

To anyone in the cybersecurity marketing field, I highly recommend you consider joining this community. Together, we can navigate the challenges of our industry, learn from each other, and continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in cybersecurity marketing.

See you at the next #cybermarketingcon!

Such a great first day at CyberMarketingCon!

Here’s a quick recap of the sessions I attended with a couple of key learnings:

📈 Tom Wentworth of Recorded Future gave a great keynote on fueling growth and demand that confirmed a few approaches for me, like thinking beyond large expo floors and the importance of investing in long-term brand-building.

🧑‍💻 📈 Geordie Carswell of ActualTech gave useful insights into the behaviors of cybersecurity buyers, including messages that may resonate. 👀

💻 Abhishek Anbazhagan of Palo Alto Networks spoke to the importance of investing in your website, stating that 57-70% of B2B buyers have made their decision before talking to sales.

🚀 Tom Orbach at Wiz gave a great talk on key components of content that has gone viral, and the importance of leaning into humor. (86% of the hundreds of viral posts he analyzed included humor.)

🌱 Dan Lowden of BLACKBIRD.AI shared his marketing playbook, speaking to the importance of a clear and consistent company message that every employee can recite, the value of strategic partnerships, and more.

🫶 Last, but certainly not least, I snuck off to CyberCreatorCon to hear talks from my friend and colleague 🏳️‍🌈 Maril Vernon, CEH, MSCSIA of Aquia and The Cyber Queens and Dani Woolf of Audience 1st on curating content, and Mimi Gross 🔗 of People by Mimi on must-knows about the LinkedIn algorithm.

Now time for another great day of sessions!! 🤩

Well that was awesome...

💥 Feeling energized and inspired after having the best time at  #CyberMarketingCon23.

👏 Shout out to Gianna Whitver and Maria Velasquez for continuing to grow and advance this incredible community of cybersecurity marketers. There was so much learning, sharing, networking, and even more importantly, empathy and support for one another as we all navigate the unique challenges in our industry 💙

🎤 It was also a big thrill (and a first for me!) to be a part of one of the conference panels focused on #DemandGen strategies. I had a blast and learned a ton from my fellow panelists Staci Northouse, 🎯 Manny Ataebi, and Joseph Barringhaus. Looking forward to carrying the demand gen flag forward with more focus on demand creation (not just lead gen), improving alignment and streamlining MOPs, and the never-ending journey to better understand our buyers.

🤩 Special thanks to the presenters from some of my favorite sessions from week (too many to name them all but I tried): Tom Wentworth, Sarah Hartland, Allan Alford, Andy Ellis, Diana Massaro, Chas Larios, Nimmy Reichenberg, Mimi Gross 🔗, Alexandra Gobbi, Amanda Lemmers, Megan Dubofsky, Thomas LeDuc

Oh yeah, and don't forget about Austin's great food 🍔 🌮 🍖 😋

And that's a wrap on an absolutely epic week.💥

I am happily exhausted 🥱.

To any and all marketers who work at (or with) #cybersecurity companies: figure out a plan to attend #CyberMarketingCon next year because it’s WORTH IT.

We were immersed in essential learning, heard insightful perspectives, commiserated over #marketing pain points, swapped tips, and had unbeatable networking opps with kickass cyber marketers.

The sessions alone are worth it—but connecting, reconnecting, and making new friends in our quirky industry is priceless. I’m personally so glad to have reconnected with people I’ve known over the past 15 years in such an intimate setting with such a welcoming vibe.

And I can’t wait to do it again next year!

Until then, let’s keep it weird, #cybermarketers. We’re a unique community and I’m so proud to be a part of it. ✌️

😳 This year, when I asked booth staff at RSA what they expected to get out of the show, most of them said "Honestly, probably nothing." Do you know how much time and money go into that expo.?! Dani Woolf and I are hoping to change things...

NEXT WEEK, we'll be at #CyberMarketingCon to talk about our RSA messaging study, and the strategies #cybersecurity companies can use to get more out of event marketing!

📈 Learn how to craft the messaging that resonates most with your buyers (we asked security buyers what they wanted to see)!

💡Get new ideas for how to staff and train your booth folks to get the most out of foot traffic.

🚀 See how to get more ROI than just raw booth scans.

🔥🧯 And someone bring an extinguisher, cuz we're gonna burn that stage to the ground! See you on Dec. 13!

Many thanks to the Cybersecurity Marketing Society for the invitation, and to Gianna Whitver and Alezandria Nicole Lacanilao for logistics and planning support behind the scenes.!

I am, for a lack of a better word... dumb.

So when I started my career in cybersecurity, it was a rather daunting task of understanding what all these little fancy acronyms meant. This is why I must thank the people over at the  for carrying me through my journey so far.

And for sharing with the world the Breaking Through in Cybersecurity Marketing Podcast, as being able to listen to the brightest minds in the marketing world of Cybersecurity... and being able to copy their strategies... i mean, LEARN from their strategies... has been a blessing.

Thanks again Gianna Whitver and Maria Velasquez for creating such a wonderful organization that can bring such bright minds together. ❤️

As a marketing professional new to cybersecurity, the help and open attitude I have experienced here has been awesome. The CyberMarketingCon was awesome and I learned a lot!

I have developed a couple of cool co-mentoring relationships that have already proven valuable! Plus it is just good to know that other people understand the challenges and frustrations of our niche world!

This is a really cool group of similar-minded professionals. The group managers create many interesting events, highlighting the accomplishments of the members. Other groups I’m in just put everyone in one place and that’s it.

Additionally, I reached out personally to members asking for their experiences with other vendors who I considered. Got real honest feedback that saved me time and money.

The best part about the Cybersecurity Marketing Society is the community. When I started in cybersecurity marketing long ago, I didn’t have others to compare notes with. Now, anytime a cybersecurity marketer has a question, wants to understand what peers are experiencing or simply vent about something, there’s a highly engaged group for that.

The Society’s ad hoc mentoring let me reach out to another marketer in the community, and we’ve established a mutually beneficial relationship. My mentor is a marketer who moved into cybersecurity, while I’m a cybersecurity compliance person who moved into marketing.

Together, we’ve established an excellent question/answer feedback process that’s allowed us to create a professional relationship and personal friendship
